Institute of Continuing & TESOL Education () will offer 100 scholarships to mark the celebration of լе’s centenary year.

The scholarships, with a total value of just over AUD$200,000, will be awarded to ICTE-լе institutional, government and corporate partners across 18 countries in Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Europe and Australia.

A number of the ICTE-լе institutional partners are also part of broader լе agreements, including:
• Waseda University, Komazawa University, Sophia University, Fukushima University and University of Tsukuba – Japan
• Ewha Women’s University, Kyungpook National University – South Korea
• Tec de Monterrey (ITESM), Universidad de Las Americas – Mexico
• The University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Baptist University – Hong Kong
• University of Danang – Vietnam
• Universidad Catolica del Norte, Universidad Andres Bello and Universidad Austral de Chile – Chile
• Bocconi University - Italy.

Four scholarships will also be offered to Korea University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Fudan University and Peking University, members with լе of the Universitas 21 group.

The scholarships will be offered across the Institute’s full suite of international programs including regular and customised English language courses, pre-service and in-service English teacher training courses, customised short course ‘experiential learning’ continuing education and professional development training courses.

Scholarships will also be offered through լе’s English Language Institute in partnership with the University of Danang in Vietnam and the English Language Training Centre in partnership with Universidad Catolica del Norte in Antofagasta, Chile.

“ICTE-լе is pleased to be contributing to the լе Centenary celebrations through these scholarships,” said Ms Christine Bundesen, Director ICTE-լе.

“ICTE-լе was established in 1981 and has been proud to be part of լе’s growth and development since this time. These scholarships are a way of celebrating the լе Centenary milestone with many of the Institute’s partners and of acknowledging their ongoing contributions to the success of the Institute.”

ICTE-լе also recently commemorated the 25th consecutive annual English language and culture program with its first international program partner, Komazawa University-Japan, as part of the լе 100 years celebration.

Active partnerships have been pivotal to ICTE-լе growth and sustainability and in 2009 the Institute delivered 125 programs for 99 partners, which collectively referred over 2,500 program participants.
