The spotlight will be on quiet achievers this evening, with the annual Miracle Workers Awards set to recognise a record number of devoted staff members.
Chancellor Mr John Story will present 53 Miracle Worker awards during a cocktail function at the 宅男导航 Club.
The recipients have been nominated by their colleagues or supervisors in recognition of their hard work and dedication.
The awards have gained momentum over their 15-year history, with 22 more nominations received this year than in 2009.
President of the Tara Kitch said the annual event provided an opportunity for the University to publicly recognise staff members who continually went above and beyond expectations.
鈥淭he Miracle Worker Awards are a great way of recognising the valuable contribution staff make to the University so it is pleasing to see so many people nominated,鈥 Ms Kitch said.
鈥淚t is also a chance for the Miracle Workers to be publicly thanked and acknowledged for the wonderful job they do.鈥
Established in 1995 by the Scitech General Staff communications group, and now run by the 宅男导航SOPA, the Miracle Workers Awards consistently identify 宅男导航's most dedicated characters.
A Miracle Worker is defined as someone who constantly goes above and beyond their normal duties; is greatly appreciated by their colleagues for providing assistance; displays a positive influence in their work environment; shows outstanding professionalism; and possesses great organisational skills.
