Those interested in sustainable living should keep a space in their diary on Wednesday, August 1.

լе will hold a Sustainability Market between 11am and 2pm at the Ipswich Campus, on Challinor Court.

The market will feature information stalls, a clothing exchange, bike accessories, fresh local produce, plants, a bake stall and a community garden stall. It will also feature a coffee van and a barbecue with vegetarian burgers and kangaroo sausages.

The լе Ipswich chapter of Doctors for the Environment (DEA) and Towards International Medical Equality (TIME) have banded together to create the market, a first of its kind for the campus, said organiser Karin English.

“The market will promote sustainable products and services that can be accessed in Ipswich, as well as ideas for sustainable everyday living,” she said.

“The students are also running a clothing exchange where you can swap your clean old clothes for something new to you. It’s a great way to revamp your winter wardrobe or pick up something fresh for summer.”

This is the first time a sustainability market has been held on campus but organisers hope it will become a regular event at լе Ipswich.
