A roll-call of high calibre researchers and research supervisors has been recognised for outstanding contributions in a range of fields at Õ¬Äе¼º½ awards.
A gala event at Customs House last night celebrated the diversity and quality of research undertaken at Õ¬Äе¼º½, featuring projects spanning treatment of severe influenza, greenhouse gas emissions, flat solar battery storage and affordable housing construction.
Twelve researchers, three research teams and five research supervisors were acknowledged across three categories – Õ¬Äе¼º½ Foundation Research Excellence Awards, Partners in Research Excellence Awards, and Awards for Excellence in Higher Degree by Research (HDR) Supervision.
The awards were presented by Õ¬Äе¼º½ Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Peter Høj and guest speaker Great Barrier Reef Foundation Managing Director Anna Marsden, along with UniQuest CEO Dr Dean Moss.
Õ¬Äе¼º½ Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) said Õ¬Äе¼º½ was proud of its exceptional researchers and research mentors.
“These awards give us the opportunity to showcase the depth and breadth of research occurring at Õ¬Äе¼º½,” Professor Harch said.
“We’re able shine a light on some of our incredible researchers and research supervisors who are creating change locally, nationally and internationally.
“I’m excited that we can also highlight and thank our Õ¬Äе¼º½ industry collaborators.
“These research linkages with industry partners are mutually beneficial and mean people all around the world can benefit from Õ¬Äе¼º½ innovation.”
