Õ¬Äе¼º½ Gatton Past Students’ Association has donated more than  $100,000 in scholarships to assist eight students studying at Õ¬Äе¼º½’s Gatton campus.

Õ¬Äе¼º½ veterinary science student Sara Rodes is the latest student to receive $5000 for each year ofher degree.

“The scholarship has made it so much easier to enjoy my degree and get as much out of it as I can,” Ms Rodes said.

“It has taken away the pressure to juggle work and study during the week, and I can now spend more of my free time gaining experience with animals.

“I would like to thank the Õ¬Äе¼º½ Gatton Past Students’ Association for awarding me this scholarship and will do my best to give back to the association in every way I can.”

Ms Rodes has always wanted to be a vet.

“When I was little I used to go to mum's chiropractic office after school and see how much she helped people,” she said.

“I have always loved animals and had lots of pets, and being a vet allows me to help people and work with animals every day.

“I love studying at Gatton. The atmosphere is amazing and it is such a beautiful campus to live and study at.”

Once she finishes her study, Ms Rodes would like to work with production animals, in particular cattle and pigs.
