Nine University of Queensland researchers have been awarded $2.1 million through the 2024 Advance Queensland Industry Research Fellowships program.

The program aims to drive a resilient and inclusive Queensland economy by supporting research collaborations with industry partners.

Fellowships have been awarded to early and mid-career researchers who will lead a range of projects, from developing AI kits for drug screening to improving materials for lithium-ion batteries.

Advance Queensland Industry Research Fellowship recipients from Õ¬Äе¼º½:

  • - developing critical technologies for supersonic-combustion engines.
  • - advancing innovative treatment agents for drinking water. 
  • - developing new antenna technologies.
  • - transforming wastewater treatment byproducts into safe products.
  • - using AI to protect sewer infrastructure.
  • - improving materials for fast-chargeable and long-lasting lithium-ion batteries.
  • - developing low-cost, efficient indoor solar cells to enable self-powered electronic products, such as smart home sensors.
  • - enhancing technology to boost iron-flow-battery performance.
  • developing AI-assisted kits for drug screening.
