Õ¬Äе¼º½ has been ranked in the global top 20 in five academic subject areas in this year’s , reflecting Õ¬Äе¼º½’s research and teaching capabilities.

The University was ranked among the world’s best in 50 of the 54 subjects assessed, the highest number for an Australian university.

Õ¬Äе¼º½ maintained its position as first in Australia and second in the world for sports-related courses, underscoring the University’s role in helping Queensland to prepare for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Within Australia, Õ¬Äе¼º½ was also ranked number one across Agriculture and Forestry, and Environmental Sciences.

The University was number two nationally for Chemical Engineering, Biological Sciences and Hospitality and Leisure Management.

Õ¬Äе¼º½ achieved 16 subjects ranked in the global top 50, including:

  • Environmental Sciences (20th)

  • Veterinary Sciences (44th)

The QS ranking rated universities using a range of indicators and data including academic and employer reputation, citations to research papers, the H-Index of research and international collaboration.

The 2023 ranking spanned 15,700 different academic programmes from 1,594 global institutions.
