More than 3,800 students have received an offer from Õ¬Äе¼º½ (Õ¬Äе¼º½) today, with the latest round bringing total offers to 10,022 students starting their studies this year.

There have been strong increases in demand across a range of programs including Engineering, Computer Science, Criminology, Pharmacy, Advanced Humanities and Business.

Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Teaching and Learning) Professor Doune Macdonald said places were still available for those wanting to join one of the world’s top 50 universities.

“If you’ve been thinking about studying this year but haven’t put in your application, it’s not too late – you can still apply before February 9 for Semester 1 2023,” Professor Macdonald said.

“Places are still available across most programs and in many cases, .

“So if you want to get into the course of your dreams, now’s a great time to do it.”

Professor Macdonald said Õ¬Äе¼º½’s Bachelor of Engineering was the most in demand course this year.

“Engineering made up more than 12 per cent of our first preference applications and to meet growing demand we have increased places in this program by 20 per cent,” Professor Macdonald said.

“We’ve increased our offers by 30 per cent for Psychological Science, an area where we know there are critical workforce shortages.

“We are also looking forward to welcoming more than 1,800 students from regional locations and more than 1,200 from low socio-economic areas which speaks to our commitment to make education and opportunity available for all Queenslanders.”

Professor Macdonald encouraged students not to be disheartened if they hadn’t received their first preference offer.

“Õ¬Äе¼º½ is still accepting applications and change of preferences for most programs and will release further offers up until a final round on Thursday 16 February,” Professor Macdonald said.

“You also have options such as or seeking alternative pathways into your preferred course.

“For those joining us in 2023, we are thrilled to welcome you and follow your journey throughout your time at Õ¬Äе¼º½ and beyond.”
