Õ¬Äе¼º½

Õ¬Äе¼º½ has held its position among the world’s top 50 universities, ranking 46th globally and number one in Queensland in the 2015/16  .

Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Peter Høj congratulated and thanked the Õ¬Äе¼º½ community, whose many and diverse inputs had contributed to the result.

“It is wonderful for our students to know that of the more than 10,000 universities in the world, their university was ranked in the top 50 in all the big discipline clusters,” he said.

These were: Social Sciences and Management (ranked 30), Engineering and Technology (40), Arts and Humanities (48), Natural Sciences (43) and Life Sciences and Medicine (30).

“This significantly boosts the recognition of Õ¬Äе¼º½ degrees in the global marketplace,” Professor Høj said.

“It takes continual hard work, good strategy and reliable funding to keep any university ranking highly on global measures.”

“The uncertain local higher education environment – with legislation currently stalled and no clear ‘Plan B’– is a challenge for Õ¬Äе¼º½ and all Australia’s globally ranked universities when it comes to competing on the world stage.”
