University of Queensland business student Teegan Green has triumphed over thousands of entrants around the globe to win one of 12 prestigious international scholarships.

The Management and Marketing PhD student has been awarded a 2013 Jane M. Klausman Young Woman in Business Scholarship.

The scholarship is sponsored by the Zonta International organisation, which helps women overcome gender barriers in business.

The scholarship program helps women pursue degrees in business management and will provide Teegan with $8000 towards her study costs.

Õ¬Äе¼º½ Business School Dean Professor Andrew Griffiths said winning the international scholarship in the face of tough global competition was an impressive achievement.

“It is well-deserved recognition for all the hard work and enthusiasm that Teegan puts into her research,” he said.

Teegan won the 2012 Three Minute Thesis (3MT™) competition and was joint winner in a 2013 Business School Research Students’ Colloquium for best Management PhD Presentation award.

She has several other awards and scholarships under her belt, including the 2012 University Medal and first-class honours in Business Management, also in 2012.
