լе’s TC Beirne School of Law will be offering insights into how law study can benefit every business professional, at an information evening in Brisbane next Thursday.

Lawyers and other professionals can find out how postgraduate law study can help to optimise career opportunities by coming along on 24 May.

During the event, prospective students will be able to discover more about the variety of postgraduate study programs available at the Law School.

Course presenters and academics will be on hand to discuss specific course subjects, including specialist legal topics such as mining law, mediation, sports law, environment law and international business.

Dr Alan Davidson, Director of Postgraduate Coursework Programs at the TC Beirne School of Law, said that professionals from many different industries can benefit from legal study, both in terms of improving their current job performance and as a means to enhance future career prospects.

“Postgraduate law study delivers credible and marketable business skills, and in a competitive job market a qualification from a respected law school is a great way to make your resume stand out from the crowd,” Dr Davidson said.

Dr Davidson believes that a focus on industry specific legal issues is just one of the reasons why լе’s law graduates are fast-tracked for success.

“Our postgraduate law programs are designed with input from the legal profession and judiciary, enabling us to create products which meet and anticipate the changing needs and demands of practitioners of law and industry professionals.”

“Courses fall into nine specialist areas of law, providing students with the flexibility to construct a program according to their own interests, or even take a one-off intensive course to refresh their knowledge of a particular area of law.”

“For example, our corporate legal courses are ideal for lawyers, company executives, accountants and others who are required to understand the legal implications pertaining to a host of business issues, including shareholder rights, corporate social responsibility, taxation and corporate finance.

Among the study options to be presented at the event are the լе Master of Laws program, the Professional Legal Course Series and the School’s suite of Applied Law programs designed for professionals who want to understand basic legal concepts and legal issues relevant to their job role or industry, but who do not wish to practice law."
