Energy levels were high on լе last week with first year students taking part in Orientation Week (O Week) festivities.
First year Veterinary Science student Danielle Hindmarsh is living on campus this year in the Halls of Residence.
“I really enjoyed O Week. It provided a fantastic opportunity to meet new people. The Halls community is so diverse particularly with the large number of international students who also live on campus,” Ms Hindmarsh said.
“It was a full on week and all of the students and staff were really energetic which added to the atmosphere.”
Introductory sessions aimed at helping students transition into university life were run along with Market Day.
At Market Day the clubs, societies, industry groups and local businesses provide students with information on the services and opportunities available to them on and off campus.
“On Friday we took part in the Hill’s Veterinary Leadership Experience day which calmed my nerves about starting vet,” she said.
“I am really looking forward to living on campus and studying Vet Science, it will be a good balance between having academic support on campus and building my social networks.”
