Anime will come to life at լе next Friday, March 25 to help raise funds for victims of Japan’s unfolding humanitarian crisis.

Anime For Aid will feature a visual feast for both avid anime fans and newcomers while helping to raise much needed funds for լе’s friends in Fukushima, one of the regions of Japan most affected by the recent disasters.

Only a month ago the Fukushima University community rallied in icy winter conditions to raise more than $2000 in funds for victims of the Queensland flood.

Fukushima University students campaigned on campus and in the local community to raise more than for flood-affected լе staff and students.

The Head of the School of Languages and Comparative Cultural Studies, Associate Professor Greg Hainge, said Queensland now had the chance to support its Japanese friends in their time of crisis.

“The support and generosity of the Fukushima University community was overwhelming and shows just how strong our relationship is,” Associate Professor Greg Hainge said.

“Now it’s time to show our support for our Japanese friends through a celebration of Japanese film and culture.”

Anime For Aid commences at 7pm on Friday March 25 at լе’s Schonell Theatre. Tickets are $15 each ($10 for students) and available at the door from 5pm. Be early to avoid disappointment.
