10 March 2010

Want to know what exciting things you'll be doing when you graduate from լе?

The 2010 can help you find out what your working future holds, no crystal ball required.

The fair will be held on Wednesday, March 31 at the լе Centre at the St Lucia campus from 11am until 3pm.

With around from a range of industries available for students to meet and greet, you could just find that dream job.

լе Careers Adviser Katrina Schipper said the Careers Fair provided a valuable opportunity for industry, business and government sector employers to promote their programs to լе students.

“Students can expect to gain information about employment opportunities that they can apply for, a better understanding of the type of role they would undertake within particular organisations and what a job in their field would entail,” she said.

“It is a great networking opportunity as employers are set up in stalls throughout the day with one purpose – to interact with potential employees”

“This means that you will be able to gain first hand information about a company, their graduate recruitment process and even discuss potential opportunities for you individually.”

Both public and private industry recruiters will be promoting their graduate programs to students in their final years of study, with some prospective employers also offering vacation work, internships, work experience, scholarships and co-op programs.

“Graduating students can expect to find information about graduate employment programs that can be available for their disciplines,” Ms Schipper said.

“Penultimate year students can enquire about vacation work, co-op programs, scholarships, and work experience with employers, and first-year students have the opportunity to find out what they can do with their particular discipline.”

Some organisations will also be accepting resumes on the day, so get a head-start on the competition by visiting the Careers Fair website to get tips for preparing your resume, and also to find out which potential employers will be there and what sort of requirements they have for prospective employees.
